New intake manifold due to soot and swirl valve. Gde tune next?

GDE only sells the EPA Compliant Tune. Their old tune disabled the EGR. I have the GDE EPA Compliant tune and love it. I would highly recommend it.

    Hello all from Southwest Kansas.

Where exactly are you in southwestern Kansas? I just drove through Liberal a few days ago. If you want to keep the truck mostly stock, but with a legal tune, I highly recommend the GDE EPA Compliant Tune. Your truck will run better, cleaner, and the fuel economy will improve.

Who has a 2020 eco? Any issues yet?

I could be wrong, but I thought the DPF sensor was covered under the 5 year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty.

Ram to end production of 1500 EcoDiesel truck in January.

Ram isn't dropping the EcoDiesel because it has problems. The 3rd gen engine has very few problems and has proven to be a reliable platform. The CEO of Ram said they are pushing up electrification in the Ram 1500, which is why the EcoDiesel is being dropped. The full electrification isn't...

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

I don't disagree there's a better design, but I do believe the factory part, when manufactured correctly, will last the life of the engine. If we lived in the same town, I would probably have your shop install an oil by-pass system and fuel pressure sensor, then we can eat pizza. ;)

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

There are tone wheels with 400,000 miles with no issues. There are tone wheels that only lasted 70,000 miles. Clearly, there was a quality control issue (some good and some bad). I try not to worry about it too much. My next big trip will be 880 miles one way, and that's when I'll think more...

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

Now that I'm outside of warranty, I like to look at the cost of ownership. I financially prepared myself for $250 per month to keep the 2015 on the road. So far, the cost of ownership has been $97 per month in 2021 and $49 per month in 2022. So far, the cost to keep the truck has been below my...

How much have you spent outside of warranty? Everything you've listed has been covered under warranty.

How many miles are you getting out of your CV Axles?

I had the dealer install a replacement CV axle a few weeks ago. I was debating if I should replace both, but ultimately decided to only replace the bad one.

How many miles are you getting out of your CV Axles?

I have 105,000 miles on my 2015 Ram (stock suspension). I noticed the driver's side boot is leaking. Should I replace both CV axles, or just the one leaking? I don't see many people talking about CV axle failures.

    Catastrophic failure

I'm at 105,000 on my 2015 with no major issues. We enjoyed owning the 2015 so much that we bought a second EcoDiesel (2020 truck). So far, it's been great, too. I think @TC Diesel is right, you either get a Hero or a Zero. So far, I have two Hero trucks!

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

I would contract Ram Cares to see if you can appeal it. If your tone wheel failed, that tells me it was one of the defective parts. My 2015 has 105,000 miles on it. So far, I haven't had the failure occur and I'm covered under the recall.

Crankshaft positioning sensor and Tone Ring Failure on Eco diesel.

The CP4.2 on the EcoDiesel is far from junk. According to internal investigations, it has a 1% failure rate. For reference, the engine has somewhere between a 10% - 15% failure rate.

    P06bb and P0673, glow plug #3 replacement

I'm not looking forward to the day that mine need to be replaced. I'll be taking mine to the dealer, but I admire those of you who have the talents/skills to tackle the job yourself. (y)

Engine Failure - 2016 Ecodiesel - 74,000 miles - out of warranty by 6 months!

The pan doesn't jeopardize clearance. The transmission lines run under the pan just like before. There's low hanging fruit elsewhere on the truck, but the pan isn't among them.

    EGR Tube Cleaning

I'm not sure about those codes. I would take it to a reputable dealer for a diagnosis. 40,000 miles is LOW mileage for a 2015 truck1
