That's sad. Just a year ago a new OE intake was $220 dollars. It's now over $700. It's getting ridiculous. I'm hoping that prices drop again, but I have my doubts, at least not for another year.
It was $6,400 before inflation became a problem, plus free shipping and no core charge. Just like everything else, it's going up too. Anyway, the price is now $7,895. Here's the link: https://moparpowertrain.com/product/5158048af-3-0l-eco-diesel-complete-running-engine/
Yup, it's under the intake. You have two options. You can either replace the entire line with another OE part or you can just replace the rubber hose with a high temperature hose. Since you have 278,000 miles on your engine, you may consider buying a new engine, or saving money for a new...
It's fairly common for the turbo coolant hose to leak on higher mileage engines. The leak is typically the short rubber hose attached to the hard line.
@Jaski, as long as you're under the AEM warranty, then yes, you're covered. In your case, it doesn't sound like you have any warranty left. If the AEM software was installed at 200,000 miles, then your warranty expired at 248,000 miles.
"The warranty term is the greater of (i) 10 years from...
As long as you are still under the AEM warranty, then yes, you are covered.
"The warranty term is the greater of (i) 10 years from the date of initial sale or 120,000 actual miles on the vehicle odometer, whichever comes first; and (ii) 4 years or 48,000 miles from the date and mileage of...
Call the EcoDiesel settlement and speak to one of their attorneys. They will get it resolved. The other option is to contract Ram Cares. They too will resolve the issue.
I run Platinum DEF. It's a synthetic and doesn't leave deposits like normal DEF. I had a clogged DEF injector on my 2015 three years ago. That's when I switched to Platinum.
I have the GDE EPA Compliant Tune. I paid for the regen message option, which is both a blessing and a curse. I see now it going into regen mode once per week whereas I used to see it only a few times during the winter.
jarhead, what happens when you switch the truck back to the stock tune?
Carbon in the intake can be a problem, but typically you're good for 100,000 miles or so. As long as I'm under the AEM warranty, I'm not going to worry about it. Once my AEM warranty expires, then I will remove the intake, replace the coolant hose that is under the intake, and install a new...
