Welcome and good luck, if they deleted the truck w/o a proper tune designed for that purpose fixing it will be kinda like unscrambling an egg and getting it back in the broken shell.
I would say some reverse engineering would be in order.
Congratulations! Hope you enjoy the truck.... seems like the time to be concerned is "before" you purchase :)
If it is stock you should just drive it a while and see how it does! They ride and drive great...
@SeanPwnery - Reset to 0 and send a sample off to an oil analyzer. If there is a problem and the oil life monitor doesn't drop significantly then maybe no big deal!.
Also your truck is a 2016? I thought the oil filters with the integral cap was only for 2020 and up? I could be wrong though...
If you decide to do a tune you would be well off to avoid leaving your truck with a dealership with the tune installed. If they flash your ECM while your tune is installed you will lose it. Oil changes on the eco diesel are incredibly easy if you take your time.
nope, engines are not really even close. A few people have done it but not without a bunch of hokie dokie. If you are looking for plug and play this aint it...
Sounds like you should do some research on oil compatibility for your year truck. Yup! OEM filters are expensive but weigh that against all the counterfeit stuff out there.
Good luck and take tour time!
