Painting engine cover

Hey all. My body work skills are less than my mechanical skills. So please be gentle.
I want to paint the plastic engine cover white to match the truck.
Advice requested...and definitely needed.
Thank you for your input.

I can't help as I removed the cover right after I bought the truck
I have seen some creative designs and paint jobs on Eco engine covers
Anxious to see what you do with yours

Seems pretty straight forward.
Its interesting because a paint place said they could do it but it wouldnt last too long, $200.
