Hello Everyone, I'm Mike, I live just outside Detroit. I have a 2015 RAM 1500 4x4 Laramie EcoDiesel. I bought it new, it now has 112,00 miles on it. I have a GDE engine and trans tune on it. I did have the pre ban Hot Tune, but I think this runs better. I found this forum doing a search for Alpha OBD. I would like to make a few changes.
Thanks,
Mike

Why did you switch tunes and what is better?
I really wanted the transmission tune. I hated the way the stock transmission shifted. The truck runs good. The big difference for me is I was driving 32.5 miles one way to work 3 days a week, so I would see Regen's about every 800-900 miles(with old tune). Now I have a new job and only drive 2.5 miles one way to work and I'm having to regen every week. I think that's because of the short drive and remote starting to go home. I asked GDE about this, they told me based on my short drive to get a gasser or EV, that the short drive is not good for this engine. This new tune does seem to have more pep in it's step and it shifts quicker and more firm. I could have gone with an EOC transmission tune and left my old Hot tune in it, but GDE is only 10 miles from my house. I ended up going there and they installed if for me. As far as which one is better, I'd have to say this new tune runs better and my mileage seems to be a little better. Even with winter gas and A/T tires on ( I have highway tires for summer). I can't wait for summer to see what the mpg's are.
