Hello,

I have a 2016 ecodiesel ram 1500 and recently it started to have a service ETC message on the dash and be in limp mode but no codes stored in the pcm. It is EGR and DPF deleted and has had no issues for over two years until now. GDP tuned. Tried cleaning and also replacing map sensor, no change. Battery is realtively new and tests fine. Tried unhooking it for an hour, message came back on the dash imediately. Looking for ideas, thanks.

I had similar issue with my 2016 deleted ecodiesel: " Service Electronic Throttle" error and 50 mph max speed with a lot of black smoke. I made ECU reset with scanner and battery disconnect that helped for a few days only. I took it to mechanic and after 2 hours of diagnostic he came out with "need to replace the Throttle Body". He only cleaned the throttle body and motor worked good then. Although truck was running better, I still had a feeling that there is not enough power as it used to be. same time I figured out that there is HPFP recall and I took it to dealer for this job (I placed OBD2 lock and sticker to not remove nor reflash ECU). After more research I decided to remove EGR pipe, throttle body butterfly and check for boost leak. I guess the faulty throttle body was the problem and removing butterfly resolved it. Now it has the same power as when I bought it and deleted. Good luck.
