If I'm reading all of the posts correctly on 3 different forums, shouldn't anybody who did a tune on their diesel to delete emission controls be criminally charged by the EPA? I know in California, I just had to have my 2 year old truck smogged. So what is the difference who did it, sounds like...
900 engine failures out of 105000 engines would earn it a 4th place ranking in between Mercedes and Volvo for reliability by Warranty Direct. Pretty good company I think.
I tow a 25 foot Surveyor, about 6500lbs. Averaged 14.7 mpg on last trip to Kern River. Oil temp got up to 253 on the grapevine, once I hit the summit, down 35 degrees. I have never had an issue on any grade yet, But I don't push it hard either. I'm retired, no hurry to get anywhere.
I have just over 21k on my 2015 Ecodiesel. Most of it towing a 25 foot travel trailer. No half ton truck can beat the fuel mileage towing or solo. No problems, I learned long ago not to mess with the factory tune unless you like spending money to fix your mistakes.
I have had my ED for 13 months and put 15k on it. About 2500 pulling a 6500lb travel trailer. I love the truck, mpg and the quiet, comfortable ride. There will be people who complain about every make of car on the planet, some legit. If you like it, enjoy it.
