Hey there, sorry for picking up this thread so many months later. I have the new GDE tune, and it has been great. Recently my EGR kicked the bucket and fortunately I was able to get it replaced under warranty. Easy as pie to switch between the two different tunes using the GDE OBD tool. And...
I got the GDE emissions compliant tune. it does not break regulations, so no worries about a fine, and, you know, global warming and such. However, it does not delete the egr either. It is supposed to turn the egr down a bit however, and drives much better. Get yourself a beater for your daily...
@John Jensen , to activate that passive regen just need to drive faster. And pull a heavy trailer. On your daily 12 mile commute. 😅🤪 But seriously, let me know how that additive works out. I’m doing about 275 miles between regents as well, split city/highway driving on my GDE tune.
2016 I bought spring of 2020 with 45k miles. Only problems have been based on suspension. Silly me driving my truck on rough roads. Since then I have replaced shocks and struts (with better aftermarket shocks) and dealer had to replace a shock mounting bracket, it took 2.5 weeks in the shop for...
Dang, totally sucks. Sorry mate. It is stories like these that make me wonder if I should jump the ecodiesel ship. I would like to keep the truck another 10 years if I can. Good luck, keep us updated.
Late to this thread, but I love having the engine breaks. I go up and down steep canyons several times in any given week. Living just outside of Salt Lake City. I stick it in tow/haul mode, no brakes necessary.
So I have the GDE tune on the transmission that forces the gear into the gear selected on the read out display. So when I hit the paddle it will force it into the gear that I select. Very nice for dirt and snowy roads. However, I’ve lost the ability to use my paddles to see the gear I’m in when...
So what I’ve been trying to do is get the gearshift numbers to show up all the time. So far, what I’ve been able to do is get them to go away so they don’t show up at all. The paddle still work to shift between gears, but i just can’t see it anymore. What I’m trying to do is the opposite, be...
I’ve been going crazy trying to figure this out. I just got the alpha obd and also installed torque pro on an old phone. I got nothing. I had the optional forced gear option done by GDE, which is rad to lock the truck into a particular gear but I have completely lost the ability to now just...
Not sure water has been an issue on the front hubs? I have been reading that large offset wheels can negatively impact suspension which agrees with what the mechanics told me when I got the hubs replaced. I am getting 18x8 oem spec offset wheels, 33x11 inch tires. Currently 20x10 inch wheels &...
Hey everyone. So, my hubs and shocks have gone out on me at 57,000 miles. first The shocks on a mountain bike trip in moab in the spring, followed by my hubs on the way back from a river trip 2 weeks ago (summer). Blown shocks also damaged the shock mounts while on the back roads of Moab, took 2...
I try to use the Prius for City driving, but it still happens in the truck. That is probably it. Again, I've only had the truck for a month so I will keep monitoring it
