Correct, easily done with the AlphaOBD app. You can also reprogram OEM ECM's with the software. As far as I know, the only caveat is the gear ratios of the ECMs need to match. GLWS.

I don't think you'll notice any power increase by removing the muffler other then a minimal increase in exhaust noise. That said, I will do the same in the near future to clean things up a bit.

Lot of variables to how long it'll take but I would give yourself 4 hours. In my case, I spent the majority of that time trying to get the exhaust apart and back together. It is a tight fit. If I had to do it over again I'd straight pipe it all the way back and delete the muffler as well. Good luck.

Not that difficult. But be prepared to deal with broken bolts off the exhaust flange, remedied with nuts ran down on the broken off stud. Here's the set of instructions I used. Good luck.
