If you get a check engine light a code is recorded in the ECU and the mechanic must to retrieve the code. if that doesn't work with your dealership try another dealer.
I had one such instance last week.
I took it to the dealership and they found out it was related to the heater for the DEF fluid reservoir.
The technician told me when the light goes off after 3 starting sequences it is not a major problem and the code is stored in the control module memory...

A little update: I got over 5000k on this new engine and other associated parts and it's been running well so far. Also of interest my son in law got a late 2015 Laramie and it's already over 110000k and no problem so far with the engine oil cooler. Looks like FCA finally got the oil cooler...
