After replaceing my engine due to coolant loss that was never able to be traced, it was discovered that a cracked manifold was the cause for the blown engine. Fortunely, at 97K miles it was totally covered under warranty for a new engine.
Do a search on my posings. Your symptoms sound exactly like mine at 97K miles. Dealer spent two months trying to say all is well and they couldn't find any problem even though it was losing coolant. Finally, they found coolant in the oil and had to install a new engine.
I don't recall anyone mentioning this before, but as for me, I have changed my own oil over 12 times now and have not had that happen. Not sure if it is broken or just can be put back in place?
Good luck with that. I just received my 5th. letter from them and the dealership still says there are no parts. Don't have to worry about bad installs when no parts are available!
Submitted my oil sample on Jan. 1st and since I have received nothing from them as of yesterday, I sent them a question asking about the testing. They replied that they are now out to 18-19 business days and hope to get it done next week.
Crazy.
I have used them since 2015 with my truck and...
Well, here I am again. 🥴
As some may recall, my engine went bang at 97,500 miles and fortunately, it was replaced under the extended warranty I had purchased, good for 100K.
Now, I have 104K miles (total) on the truck and 7K on the new engine, and DUH, new sounds from the engine associated...
Did not have any oil leak that showed up nor oil level dropping but after having 8 excellent oil reports from Blackstone, the last one, that I think may have convinced both the dealership and the warranty people showed lots of antifreeze in the oil. I always have my oil analysis done at each...
Yes. Replaced in Texas when the tone ring failed.
Came back home to SC and was losing antifreeze, somewhere but not showing up anywhere.
Dealership in SC replaced the EGR but the loss of antifreeze continued. Finally after 3 more trips to the dealership they finally said the head was blown...
After having a new engine installed, I experienced a number of "challenges" including headlights coming on by themselves when parked at night AND cruse control working and not working.
After about 2 weeks things started to happen less and less and for the last 3 months the cruse control has...
My tone ring failed while on a trip from SC to Dallas. Took 3 weeks to get fixed while I sat at a campground in 110 degree heat.
Came back to SC and within another 3K miles, engine blew with 95K miles on it.
Full warranty replaced it for $100 deductible.
Love the Laramie, 2015, and will keep...
IF you are under warranty with MoPar for this, KEEP ACTUAL RECEIPTS. They will NOT accept CCard statements for ANYTHING. You MUST have the actual receipts for Lodging, GAS, Food, Everything you may want to get paid for under the contract.
Checked with the dealer and you are correct....sorry. Bolts for the tone wheel are on back order and currently looking at end of May at the best. Got to love the supply chain......or not.
