Never heard of cleaning the Plenum? Only the egr Tube? Could you specify what you saw or read?

You have to foam the plenum, the diffuser tube can be cleaned with Carb Cleaner or use Ams or Mighty Foam, My EGR Chamber clean its the Plenum thats filthy ugly and than place the Truck in Aggressive Regen Mode, 2800RPMs for 10-15 Minutes (Requires WITech) The dirty MAP is ED at 12K miles, The Cleaner one 6.7 Cummins at 24K Miles. You can get By driving HWY speeds for 20 Minutes, this will Clean the DPF and place the system into Active Regen when all criteria is met. Foaming the Plenum is not that difficult on the 3.0...Removing all the sound foam is the PITR...

I would run the factory lube to 4-5K drop and OA, You can use the appropriate Lube Ams,Delo, etc, I use T-6, Just do OAs up to 30K Miles or more.
If You don't do something with the filthy EGR system the ED has you will have problems in long term ownership, I've already foamed MY plenum twice with VS7 , Ams has a awesome throttle foam cleaner also, I've posted the procedure at the other forum ,I visit but will NOT likely participate again.

If You change the Trans USE Maxlife form Valvoline. That's what I'm running and Shawn switch form Ams to Maxlife with NO issues also.
On the TC Ams would work just fine.

I've added additional filtration and live oil gage its very complex setups

There are others as well.

Others coming from the same person... idk. You can message him directly if you want him to shine some light on everything he sees necessary with the engine. Not a very positive or confident person right there
