DEF in fuel tank

Did something incredibly braindead today. Last night missed my turnout for filling my DEF tank but made it home. Went and got some DEF this morning. Was preoccupied and tired and ended up putting 2.5 gallons of DEF in the fuel tank! Luckily it didn’t start because the DEF was still empty. And advise for the best method of draining the tank and getting it all out?

I did the same things a few years ago, only put in about a gallon before I realized it. Didn’t even attempt to start so nothing made it into fuel lines. Had it towed to mechanic and he drained the tank, not sure if he pumped it or dropped the tank. Filled back up and started, but still drained the water filter a couple times. I was fortunate, you don’t want any of the def to reach the fuel system,
very costly. Sounds like you caught it early enough, good luck.
