rough start, the glow plug symbol appears for about a second and the the diesel pre heat message doesn't appear at all. two strange things happen in 20-28 degree mornings after a warm up. About a mile down the road the engine cut out for a split second and then the diesel pre heat message came on briefly. very strange.

I never had a problem with the glow plugs firing but I do have the hiccup issue occasionally. Mostly if I don’t give it more than a 5 minute warmup it’ll do it when I’m boosting up the driveway hill or shortly after pulling out of the driveway under boost. Not sure if it’s an overboost situation dimming it down with the blip. I’d assume possibly when the tune was wrote, it shortened your glowplug timing. Or coincidentally your glow plug module is on the fritz.

They are saying it's got nothing to do with the tune. I'll have to check the glow plug module -if I can find it. Thanks for the input

It's fca side for the ecodiesel, they don't do a full glow plug light and preheat like a hd Truck does. Don't worry

He’s having issues with them not coming on and starting rough, not nessasarily an indicator issue. seems like it’s a glitch in the tune or the module is on the fritz

"Rough" is any diesel including the ecodiesel when it's cold and deleted. Just when you have dpf it's all muffled so the rough cold start as cylinders wake up is not noticed near as much as a deleted truck

Mindful most guys have never experienced these starting temps for their diesel's or other vehicles so things sound new

-30, gde, or factory tuned for that matter, there was never a "diesel preheat" message on the eco. And the glow plug light doesn't stay illuminated and cycle like Cummins or powerstroke. It's all passive and like a 5 second cycle.

So I'd put money nothing is going on
