Using Torque Pro to monitor DPF soot %, typically runs between 35-45%, mostly freeway driving. Couple weeks ago DPF% pegged at 100 but truck ran normally and temps remained in normal, no active regen, ranges. Monday, took it out for a 100mi freeway trip. Pic1 shows Torque Pro readings about halfway through trip, DPF% was at 100 for entire trip, but again no indication of active regen, and no alerts/error msgs. Used OBDLink app to verify DPF reading (pic2), also shows DPF% at 100. I have a 3rd potential source, AlfaOBD, but haven't figured out how to use graphs yet.

Not sure whats going on here, what say ye ecodieselram folks?

Your first photo shows engine coolant temp at 140 degrees. If this is after 50 miles of hyway driving you are running way to cool. Should be in the 195 range by now. My understanding is you need at least 170 degrees F to start an active regen and my torque app bears this out. The going to 100% is normal on torque, once the system calls for an active regen it always pegs the soot load ,on torque, to 100 %, until the regen completes. Then it drops down to 9%.

That gauge is actually Intake Manifold air temp. Coolant temp runs around 200degF when warmed up. I have it displayed on the EVIC.

Ok, Misunderstood gauge meaning.
Heres what I think is happening. At some point your soot load increased enough for the ECM to call for an active regen. It may or may not have set an EVIC message (DPF at 80% drive at highway speed to remedy)but it did set torque to 100% at that point. Now the active regen was not allowed to finish, but was enough to get DPF % below The point the ECM calls for an active regen ( I think 65 to 70 %). So torque is stuck at 100% until an active regen completes. If you have ALPHAOBD you can force either a stationary regen or set the ECM to regen the next time all conditions are met. Then drive long enough to complete the regen while monitoring with torque. You should see it drop to less then 10% when finished. MIne takes 15 + miles to complete.
I know a long read but it may help.

If I follow, the DPF% read by Torque stays at 100 until an active regen reset, whereas the actual soot load may be different? Still wondering why the truck did not initiate an active regen on my last 100mi trip. The active regen PID remained OFF and EGT temps did not indicate an active regen.

Next 100mi trip is Monday. I do have alfaobd, so will figure out how to set active regen.
