So I was reading through the service manual recently and realized I had been performing the fuel filter drain service all wrong!
I like many people struggled to get a reasonable flow for the drain so I ordered the solid brass drain plug from Geno's.
Come to find out, procedure states to open the drain screw and then cycle the ignition. Thus enabling the fuel pump and blowing the fuel and water out of the drain! No issues with vacuum preventing the drain.
Damn thing actually makes sense why it doesn't just pour out like you want it to when you open the drain screw now!
By the way an icecream pail or bottom half of a wiper fluid container sits perfectly on top of the prop shaft leaning against the fuel tank right under the filter housing. Works great for me!
