I purchased my truck pre-loved. I've been reading some horrible stories about the issues of this beautiful truck.
I called my Gap insurance and asked "does it matter how the truck was damaged?" I gave him a couple examples (fire, meteor shower, so on). He said "totaled is totaled. Doesn't matter what caused it. It's all based on the numbers."
So if you have Gap insurance, call them and see if they will total your truck instead of you fighting for, waiting for and paying for your engine.
