Intercooler issues

ongoing battle to get my 2016 back on the road. You can review my post history for details but long story short the truck has been out of commission and at the dealer for months now with one issue after another. Luckily most work has been covered by the AEM warranty.
this morning got a call from the service advisor who says they believe they found what’s causing my issues to be a clogged Intercooler.
so two questions has anyone had experience with issues on their Intercooler and if so were you able to get it covered under AEM?

Idk how an intercooler would get clogged as it moves air through it. Some oil can accumulate in it but I’ve never heard of that.
