Always out of the box... Sooooo a double overhead cam diesel?? Gotta try that on.... But 35K???? Nope... Current ride a 2008 ram 3500,6.7 all deletes/stick/southbend clutch. Left knee getting partial on 10th, Needed auto truck.. Start with a creampuff 2014 eco, chips in oil. Buy a 2020 8K engine right?
But as a very old engine builder.non computergeek, I was really taken aback when we got into the swap. First problem-truck harness and 3rd gen? engine not same...so use 2014 harness on new engine right? After a lot of "adjustments" only left over plug was on new {different} turbo. Now what? When putting power to truck... very obvious 2020 tranny was not talking to 2014 ecm..in fact they were about like 2 ex wives fighting overr the terms of my will..Soooo pull out the 2020 tranny, put the 2014 back in... Yup, both wives now happy, had to chase out a few codes, still have 1 , but hey at this point we are not repeat going to let a code ruin our day..
Yesterday was first drive one block and weird noise, lots of black smoke (hey think of all the black smoke I used to put out in AB in my F8 on takeoff)..
Problem? loose clamp on turmo return line.. Fixed, drove 35 miles in traffic, max speed 60 no issu
This truck is like a dream compared to my 3500 ,yes the 6.7 in the 3500 is a brute but this truck is very "refined",
Yes I would like to know what the "spare"plug on the turbo is not telling us?
Will get tag on truck and of course drive it a lot more.but so far shifted well, power was good but I have never driven a "normal" eco
I did not floor it at any time, I wanted to get home in 5 oclock traffic with no issues.
Just ordered delete tuine, will be deleting egr/dpf/etc etc when parts arrive.
What is 2nd plug on turbo (small plug) I know you guys have that answer,
