Love the truck but…

Hi all. I bought a 2016 limited eco diesel about 4 months ago. Good shape. Great on fuel. Needed a few things but was ready to get them fixed. Last week while towing a single axle trailer the truck just shut down while driving at hyway speed. Had it diagnosed and the magnet on the tone ring has failed. Truck dead. Won’t start. Had it towed to the nearest shop and they have parts but have issues with technicians and time to fix it. Long story short it’s going to take a month to get it fixed. Kind of hard to go a month without my truck but it is what it is. Anyone else had this happen? Crazy to think the have to remove the transmission to change a little magnet and why the heck did they put it there to begin with.

It's European design...That say's it all...You should have done research BEFORE purchase...You had 8 Years of all the short comings of VM 3.0.

Love the truck. It’s just one of those things that absolutely could have had better design. There are pluses and minuses for every manufacturer out there. I’ve heard great things and bad things about all makes and models. I’ll fix it and see what happens next. Hopefully that’s the end of the bad luck. This truck has been spectacularly maintained and deleted since 100k so should have lots of life left.

Tone ring is under recall replacement and they are not on back order these days. They should have one in stock or another local dealer should have one. Push them and they should be able to get it back on the road in only a few days.....based on their work load and not parts.

Trying to push them. 15 days so far and probably another week or so to go.
