Hi Bart, I just got my 2018 EcoDiesel back from the same issues. It’s been going on for about 3 months. At first I thought it was a bad MAP sensor but after replacing that, the issue still persisted. I took it to the dealership and they diagnosed a bad throttle actuator. I also had to wait 3 weeks for the parts to come in so I kept driving it and resetting the codes (P02E8 and P0299). However, if you do keep doing that, it won’t run a DPF regen due to the active codes. If it doesn’t regen, it will eventually become dead in the water and won’t run at all. So I downloaded the Alpha OBC program, got a couple of connecting cords and performed a manual regen to keep me going until the parts came in (that was a project itself. If anyone wants to know how to find and bypass the security gate, I can help with that too). The dealership replaced the throttle actuator and everything seems to be back to normal. It was more like $1100 though, not $5000. I’m not sure if your scenario is exactly the same as mine, but hopefully this helps a little.
