P0299 RABBIT HOLE

Hello everyone. First post but have learned a TON here from Googling and ChatGPTing my way to this forum.

Deleted 2016 1500 Big Horn Crew - Everything went well until the P0299 LMFBO! RABBIT HOLE!

So I have embraced learned code readers and have lived under my truck for a week and half. Smoke test. Pressure test. Then monitoring the other components with a reader. Saw VGT Position Commanded vs VGT position actual were vastly different, and she was down about a third on what she expected for airflow.

I THINK I have it nailed down to a bad VGT Actuator. once I am back home I am going to use my new TopDon bidirectional to see if it will wiggle. If not I will try to swap just that part (found one known good online).

Truck runs fantastic when she's not throwing codes LOL.
