Seized alternator

Has anyone dealt with a seized alternator? I have been in the process of rebuilding my 2016 Ecodiesel engine after a second catastrophic failure. I had the original engine replaced with a second hand one and it went the same way. Too much invested in the vehicle to walk away from it so I decided to rebuild it myself... quite a saga. In the meantime, the truck sat through the end of winter and four months later, when we put everything back together, the alternator was completely seized. And ideas... suggestions? I've poured some oil in it and will let it sit overnight and see if I can turn it tomorrow morning. I guess the next step is an open box surgery and complete clean up.
