Hello all, just thought I would ask before diving in and tackling this project. How difficult is it to change this hose out? I have looked at some YouTube videos and they showed having to pull the intake manifold off. just trying to get some other thoughts.

I'm about to do this very same job in the name of getting it out of the way, and to install a clean, new, sootless intake. As near as I can tell the biggest worry for me is the wiring and having to throw the passenger side harness across the driver's side of the engine, and maybe the fuel lines. I'm no stranger to tools and tearing an engine down, but seeing as how I've never done one of these Pasta-diesels, it is a bit intimidating to me as well.

I started on it today. Got the harness over and fuel lines off. There were a whole lot of connectors!

If I might make a suggestion...
There is a one-piece replacement tube with braided hose section available. It looks to be significantly more durable, but the catch is getting the metal oil line out of the way for removal of the cooling line's turbo side banjo bolt. I had this done on my truck about a year ago. Cost about $5k because they removed the cab to access the oil line banjo bolt that is down by the bell housing. At least I got an a/c recharge and coolant flush out of the deal.

You can also use a high temperature silicone hose. If the first hose lasted close to 100,000 miles you will probably get at least that again out of an upgraded hose...

I have read on other post about having issues with the hose clamps used. Has anyone had any issues with them?

Just replaced mine last weekend and it was a chore. The aftermarket hose is a better hose. Clean the intake while you have it off and or replace it. Good luck with it.

Does anyone have a link to the braided replacement hose?
