Boost pressure issue

I have just recently had my 2017 eco diesel tuned and deleted from Mr.tunning out of Canada. The tune itself works great but once I get into the throttle a sort of whooshing noise can be heard and the truck loses all boost and most of its power. If you let off the throttle until the whooshing noise stops it regains power and is fine until it happens again. If you stay in the throttle the service electronic throttle control flashes on the gauge cluster and it throws the 3 codes seen in the picture. I think it’s possibly the waste gate but I’m not entirely sure and would like second opinions.

Sounds like a boost leak
I have assumed a boost leak would be constant no matter the boost pressure? My issue only occurs under higher boost which is why I thought maybe my waste gate was opening but I could be wrong.

Did the tuning require any hard part changes? And if the tuning is the only thing you have changed, I would point there sadly.
Before I had it tuned it was thrown into limp mode and had the under boost code, service electronic throttle, and the various emissions codes. I thought they were all emissions related but I am second guessing that now. The only parts changed on the engine is a AFE hot side charge pipe, K&N air filter, aftermarket radiator due to damage to my stock one, and a horrendous exhaust leak that I have already ordered parts for.

Typically a boost leak will get worse as the boost builds pressure. If you have a pin hole water leak in your hose, it dribbles out when you shut the hose off and it loses pressure, but when you apply pressure the stream grows. The rubber seal at the turbo outlet for the hot side pipe can hold back a pile of boost new, but heat cycles and residual oils can cause it to soften, so holding back 5-10 psi it’s fine, but as you build higher it can start to overpower the seal and push past. Just food for thought. I’d check your piping and just feel for sloppy joints, boot rubs expecially that hot line silicone 90 leaving the turbo, and if all that checks out I’d guess a turbo for your next move.

Oh and the plastic “silencer” in the hot pipe going down to the intercooler. It’s held on with hose clamps. I’d say that could have a crack or failed joint. Just thinking of the free and easier things to look at.

When you put it that way it makes a lot of sense. Hopefully it’s something as simple as that.

I’m not sure if I mentioned it but I have a AFE hot side charge pipe unless you’re meaning the junk plastic piece that connects to the turbo or the fitting on my intercooler

I looked at my charge piping and this (picture below) is the only one I could see had a leak. It’s the plastic pipe that runs from the turbo flange to the AFE pipe (as pictured). I’m curious if you or anybody else knows of a non plastic one I could purchase I would rather have metal over plastic garbage.

As far as I know, cause I have the same leaking area, no one makes aftermarket. You have to buy the whole oem piece and undo hose clamp for the chinsy pos to come apart and use just the turbo henn connection and 90

That’s awfully convenient. I attempted to seal the leak temporarily. I’m going to reach out to AFE and see if I can have something custom ordered if not I’ll see if a local fabricator can make something.
