You can't run two tunes for the engine at the same time. I suspect the guy you are referring to had GDE on the ECM and SFT for the TCM.

I know of a couple of local shops who do thier own programming but not advertised and may not be totally reliable as they have no telemetry to check their changes and may not have a complete grasp of engine tunes, just lots of smoke. The short answer is no, the dealer has no way of knowing your engine was tuned if you take it out before having your vehicle serviced. The search feature is your friend! Here are many hours of reading for you to regard before making a decision!

As far as I know, gde does not remove egr functionality but they do or will offer a touch screen tuner for storing tune on file and reverting back. Speaking of which I need to see if Jimmy at SKT can put my engine and trans tunes on one handheld now!
