So even though I’ve posted many times this is not a grocery getter, I went from putting a 100,000 on my truck in two years to driving it just 4 miles a day because we bought a retail store.
About a week and half ago, I got the 80% warning and went to drive my truck on the highway to clear out...
AT short distances it seems to cause the exhaust filter to get full more quickly because it doesn't get hot enough for a regen, and then you are forced to go out and drive on the highway to clear it. Some have reported their truck goes into limp mode because the filter gets to 90 or 100% and...
I've got a 1st gen 2014 with 195,*** all original, no mods and no issues. Don't follow the "manufacture" or dash intel for changing fluids. Do the oil every 5k and the fuel filter every 10k. Try your best to not consistently drive it short distances on a regular basis and when and if you can...
Anyone know if it’s possible to put an ecodiesel into an early to mid 90’s Chevy 3/4 or 1 ton? I found a great 93 dually that has a 6.5 diesel with a cracked block. Is it just to small a of platform or are there some mechanics in this forum that may have an idea?
I really need to replace the springs and shocks too, I riding on the original 🤦♂️ but I also want to add the aftermarket air shocks to the truck. I still have a warranty on my truck, but as soon as that ends in about two years, I plan to delete my truck as well. I recommend you change the oil...
As usual, just keeping it positive. I passed 190,000 on my 2014 1500 about a week ago. I went from OKC to Lincoln, Nebraska and back in the same day and averaged 26.6 at “the pump”. Most of the drive was on the highway at the posted speed limit of 75mph and carrying maybe 500lbs of additional...
They are great trucks, but, roughly 10% seem to have constant issues. If you buy a used one, try to find one with records from the previous owner. Also, it would be wise to just delete the truck right from the beginning. Most people that have done that don’t have any issues.
I’ve not heard of nor could I find any info on the WC90 code. Also, make sure whomever is doing the oil change is using the correct oil and putting in enough quarts. Diesels use more than gas. I realize this is a simplistic answer so no insult intended, I saw your truck is a 22’ so wanted to...
My warranty covered the intake replacement. I’ve also found if I have to do any regular driving around town I will put my truck in tow/haul mode and that keeps the rpm’s around 2000. By doing that I’ve had less notifications saying the exhaust gas filter is getting full. Lastly, and I hate to...
Agreed, there are some programmers that can force a regen. I will delete my truck and maybe do a programmer when my warranty is up…I’ve been fortunate though, I’m pushing 190,000 miles and have not had any major issues.
I’m still running stock, just recently, I got the electronic throttle control code and it went into limp mode. I knew my battery was getting low because the crank was slower than normal and it took longer for the NAV and satellite to boot up. I knew the battery was one of the issues that caused...
Any chance replacing the battery result in fixing the electronic throttle response warning? Just got this today, I have a warranty but want to rule this out first since I’ve needed to replace the battery anyhow.
The trans flushing argument always gets people going…personally I don’t mess with it until I see something going on and I’ve never had a transmission fail. “If ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
The only thing I’ve done is I added a Roarpedal for throttle response. Other than that, the truck mechanically is just as it was when it was assembled.
