    P203e code

Really not sure on the factory tune..

    P203e code

Also it takes a while for the def gauge to register change, up to like 10 Minutes? So if you put your key in the on position and just it sit for a while to give it enough time to register. Just a quick key cycle may not register the present level.

    P203e code

Is your def needle on E? You should be able to put cycle the ignition and see if it's registering a fluid level change by now even? Don't even need to start it. Also owners manual states to only fill def to 2/3 or something like that because of expansion when freezing in climates that see sub...

Just Make sure and flush that out good before refilling. (Hence my opinion on just using the hose to let it overflow and flush out [I know winter isn't the ideal time to do this])

    P203e code

I would Probably dump 1 gal of regular distilled white vinegar and the rest water for maybe 4 hours?
  6. jdn112011

    P203e code

Yea I'd assume any clean water would be enough to dilute it and dissolve the deposits, unless you end up needing some acidity

    P203e code

Are you trying vinegar solution or just the water out of curiosity?
  8. jdn112011

    P203e code

Sweet. Are you actually going to drop the tank or flush it in place? That's what I would do. Just do a vinegar water fill for 3 hours, drain, flush, and then dump a few gallons of def in. Just my opinion if I were in your shoes. Not sure if it's what you were asking but yes it's a 8 gallon tank...

    P203e code

Well when you run out of miles just don't turn off the truck! It will stay running at zero miles but it won't restart. So that will be your last drive to the dealership. I wouldn't waste money on new def I'd bottle it and reuse it for sure!

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

If it was 3 decades ago that we had this engine technology, and there was the level of government emissions regulations there was then, it would be entirely possible. Gde cannot run their tune with epa certification therefore fca cannot run that software from the factory

    P203e code

I'll tell you what, here's my answer if the 20$ tank flush can't fix it.. It's only half the price to tune the truck. Even if you go off road tune, put in the cheater pipe, you're still well under your quote and it'll never be a problem again. Getting towards 100k and no Warranty is when to...

    P203e code

He said it was a temp fix and within a year had to replace the tank. But he was under Warranty at the 24k miles, you obviously are not

    P203e code

I would definetly do a vinegar solution flush to take out the urea and mineral deposits. Also there's no sense using distilled water for the flush in my opinion, it's just in and out so the garden hose would do just fine.

    P203e code

Yea that would suck.. good luck and let us know what you figure out if you do decide to dive into it yourself!
  15. jdn112011

    P203e code

Not saying it'd solve your problem but in my opinion it'd be worth putting the time into to play with it before eating a dealership bill. IF you drain out the tank I'd just flush water through the fill neck a time or two or three. drain it out again and see if the gauge registers a change in...

    P203e code

I haven't looked but I wouldn't think there'd be much to it. The exhaust sensor is easy to access, and the tank I've read some success with just flushing it with water to clear the deposits
  18. jdn112011

    P203e code

At that point I would try draining the def tank and cleaning the sensors, also the def injector in the exhaust could be restricted. Should all be simple stuff to do yourself. I had seen some def crystallization on the exhaust injector causing problems when I was researching low temp def years ago.

    Ram EcoDiesel Oil Change Information

Honestly it won't hurt the truck either; even with the update. Fca outright said to me on the phone that I could run out my 5w30 oil change without any harm. And no flash is going to Make a certain oil weight all of a sudden insufficient. Assuming by this point you get where I'm going. Also...
