How many miles are on your truck? What kind of service duty has it seen? The normal service duty is 10,000 miles but most people seem inclined to increase that frequency somewhat. I do 7500 miles and a fuel filter each time.
Consider having an Oil Analysis done by a lab each oil change. You can...
Sorry I was assuming it was the same process as the SFT tune which comes with a handheld device. Maybe the HD could be substantially different? I have taken my tunes out a couple times, it is pretty easy but the I don have the HD.
Congratulations on your truck. The RAM is super comfortable and they drive really nice! They are not however all that trouble free with the emission systems intact. What the other poster meant was you might peruse this forum on Deleting the EGR with an engine tune. It appears to vastly improve...
Honestly? I don't see anyone on this forum saying how great the ecodiesel is. In fact it seems filled mostly with negativity! (probably for a reason)
Some of us have done the best we can with the engine and have learned to pay close attention.
I will say thanks to TC because I never would have...
Your next question may regard warranty. Yes, a tune will absolutely render your warrant null and void. That is why it is absolutely essential to have an tune that you are comfortable removing and reinstalling periodically and the basic mechanical knowledge to do it if you are planning use a...
I personally have never heard or your issue and I typically read many forums fairly thoroughly. That is certainly not to say others haven't experienced it. Probably not a common issue...
I like the fact that I can install my GDE tune for my “off road” uses 😉😉 and put it back in when I drive on public roads or am looking for dealer service😇!
The truck will to notify you that a region is in progress in its stock form. There are several tools available to help you do this and even do a manual regeneration. The Edge Products Insight Cts2 appears to be very popular for this purpose. You might research the aftermarket tuning options...
It is really not a question, delete if you can!
The merits of just turning off the EGR vs. physically removing the parts are debatable. You will find countless threads and hours of scintillating reading under the Ecodiesel Performance section!
I do not think you will find anyone who regrets it.
Interesting, Mine counts down on the dash as I drive, the display reads 80% 70% etc until I get the region complete message. I have been thinking on getting the Edge II so I don't have to drive out of my way every time I get the message.
That sounds good, I was looking to switch to a load range e tire and found a good price on the Nokian’s . They looked like a good tire!
Since we don’t get much snow here I decided to go with the Toyo Open Country AT3’s
Strange, my GDE tune lets me know at 80%. It is usually around 500 miles (give or take) Not sure why it would do that many in a short period.
Seems like a lot unless it wasn't finishing for some reason?
