I was the fleet manager for my company for 5 years and had 113 trucks (handed off the role to another guy a couple years ago), F150's to F550's and a few Chevy's. We follow the dash indicator for oil change intervals on all the trucks that have it and since 2010 we haven't see any significant...
It was quite ridiculous.....one repair was right about $10k and that was replacing all 32 valve stem seals, it was about $300-500 in parts and the rest was labor.....they are prone to leaking due to extended oil change intervals recommended by BMW.
That's reassuring, however I typically trust no one at a car dealer. I've owned 60 some odd vehicles in my 27 years of driving and they are all shady as F, for the most part. We shall see when and if I get a response from the salesman.
Hopefully I don't have any significant issues with my new ED, however it can't be any worse than the 2007 BMW X5 4.8 that I traded out of......the X5 had over $27k in repairs in 2 years, fortunately I had a really good extended warranty.
I didn't "check" the wheels before I bought my truck a few weeks ago.....I was EXTREMELY disappointed to say the least when I washed it the first time and found they were plastic chrome.
On a side note, I would have bought it regardless just to get away from the money pit BMW X5 4.8 we...
There are many new vehicles that have a capless fill system.....I had a 2010 F150 truck for work and it had one of the first capless gas tanks and never had an issue with it, I put 150k miles on that truck before I had to turn it back in. Someone else is driving it now and its at around 200k...
I traded my wife's 2007 BMW X5 4.8 for the Ram 1500 4wd ED.........glad to be rid of that POS Bimmer. Gave her my Tahoe Hybrid that she's been wanting since I got it.
I've had my truck (4wd) for just a few weeks and I've never seen below 24mpg since the first tank of fuel.....last tank was 26 and change......I'm on tank #4 and just over 1/2 a tank left.
Just bought my 1500 crew 4wd ED a few weeks ago....loving it so far. I drive a good 100 plus miles a day so I wanted the fuel economy. I've had several 3/4 ton diesel trucks in the past so its good to be back....
I just purchased my truck a few weeks ago, beginning of Sept. I can tell you that if they completed this TSB on my truck, which I don't think they did, they didn't put the sticker on the oil cap at least.
I'm emailing my salesman now to find out what the deal is. If they didn't complete...
