    Should I keep this truck?

My truck has been down since December - I was bilked out of $5,300 dollars for most of the fuel system, and the problem wasn't even fixed. I still have no start, no electric fuel pump priming when turning the key, and a runaway starter when I key it to "start" until I literally spin the key back...

    Crank tone wheel

Does any one know of a company that may have come up with a kit to relocate crank sensor from where it is in between engine and transmission to the harmonic balancer.

Does your lift pump make a noise?

Two small updates : 1. I submitted my information to RamCare - trying to detail as much as possible to them about 5 days ago. Tuesday morning I received two replies stating that they opened up a claim case and are investigating the dealership I took my truck to. I basically told them I just...

Does your lift pump make a noise?

How many miles on your Truck? 95-115 is the general failure point. Dealer here I want to say pulls the starter and sneaks an endoscope in to view the tone wheel

Does your lift pump make a noise?

Doesn't that typically throw you a crank position sensor code?

Turo throttle valve aka "lighting bolt" issue

Hi, new member here. I have done what Sean has done and the "lighting bolt" and check engine light are still lit. I can clear the codes but when I go to start the truck they come back on immediately. The Tmap and the throttle charge air temp sensor are working properly. I bought factory new...

    Engine failure

Data NO on rotating mass Failures, Yes on the fires, leaks , Plenum , Turbo , Warped Valves. It simply is Hero Zero motor, But it has extremely high failure rates on Components, like Tone Ring / Crank sensor , Glow plugs , Turbo , DPF, etc. It's just European Design, Over Engineered and under...

    Hey-

My 2014 ecodiesel is now at dealership after red lightening bolt came on and truck bogged down on acceleration in traffic. I did get to work, but it then hesitated to start, but would. Had it towed to a shop and was told it was a crankshaft issue- they recommended taking to dealership. Just got...

    Recall

No it just cranks over and over it won't start. Two dealerships and Dodge have said it's not part of a recall. My tech is going to document the tear down with photos if there is a desalination they will document it. It could just be the sensor. We will see.

Lets do a class action on recall W58 defective tone ring

I got the W58 recall done August of 2020 and Saturday I got the P0336 fault code for crank shat position sensor. Now trying to call everyone at FCA to try and get my tone wheel replaced under warranty. W58 was a BS “fix” only so you can limp your truck to the dealer. There’s supposed to be a W68...

    Crank sensor/reluctor wheel

Cool that you did it; but it's a recalled and warrantied repair. You may be able to submit for reimbursement on the parts but because you did it yourself you're limited. It's unfortunate that it's a trans split job for tone wheel/crank position sensor but every Truck out there will be...

    Crank but no start

Update. Back on the road! To no surprise the tone ring was the issue. Bought the replacement for $25 and had a shop do the work for a fair price. Onto tuning next! 😁

    Crank but no start

Thank you. Yes I believe the tone ring is the culprit and I have one on order. My vin was not included in the recall unfortunately. Since my post I have removed my starter and inspected the ring with an endoscope. Oddly the ring looked okay. No cracks or gaps. So I’m continuing my search For...

    Crank but no start

You make my most analytical day seem simple. Keep it simple. Yep the Crank Position Sensor and Ring. One of the reflash recalls was to supplant the Crank Position Sensor as primary to the Camshaft Position Sensor, this was supposed to allow you to limp in when the Crank Tone Ring grenades (as...

    Crank but no start

Hi all! New member and owner of a 2016 ram bighorn ED with 120k (as of feb-2022). Overall In the short time I’ve had it I’ve been pleased with the vehicle. Recently I became a student and victim of the apparently common lightning bolt, “service electronic throttle control”. I know there are many...
