I may have answered my own question ... I believe I used these for the car... will report back once they arrive for the truck.

I run a set of 3157 Switchback LED's on my 2003 Thunderbird - it seems to work just fine, no errors.
I purchased a set for the 16 Ram, and they work, however the front ones will switch off the "White" running light to use the "Amber" turn-signal, which will trip a "Parking Light Out" error on...
Edit : Well... today was a little on the chilly side for around here - turns out cold idle pressure is actually 35psi and accelerating will build up to 70. Warm will eventually settle down to 19 at idle and up to 50 on acceleration though. I'd hazard a guess and say my oiling system and pump are...
Just thought we'd all collate the numbers and see what that rolling average is.
Odo is currently at 107k and change for some background. Running Rotella T6 5W40 with a Wix Filter.
Cold start - idle 700rpm, oil pressure about 29psi
Warm idle - about 19psi
Acceleration after warm, climbs to...
True .. what feels like almost a lifetime ago, I worked for Chevrolet and even then, some jobs would take me several days to just diagnose, then repair. Since it was book time, the service writers didn't care as long as the customers weren't pissed at the wait since what I made on the job was...
So on my 16 Lone Star, it originally came with standard tail lights with the older style filament bulbs. I really didn't shake down the truck very long before it went down for almost a year - so I can't really say if I had this error before, but I did replace the bulbs with Sylvania Xevo LED...
Hi everyone... remember me? I was the guy that bought my 16 Ram last year - 10 weeks and 600 miles later, I had a paperweight. The warranty people wouldn't cover it, and the stealership tried to extort me out of $15 grand saying I needed an entire fuel system replaced. Sounding more familiar? If...
Hrm... okay, so something like this would still involve a tune to do something about the EGT sensor.
What about re-routing the pipe to a catch-can? (I know, this sort-of does away with that whole "keep it looking untouched" idea).
So, most of us know that whoever came up with the idea of cramming soot back down the throat of our Ecodiesels should be tortured... slowly and painfully. Here's a thought though - the forums here and elsewhere all talk about EGR cooler deletes and tunes and the like, but what about taking the...
A good tune and a Banks intake will do wonders. The DEF injector is an afterthought. My intention was to stop what kills these engines by ridding myself of the EGR system and running the above, but the DEF injector doesn't really have to go.
I had a similar issue about a year ago.. it literally happened 10 weeks after I bought the truck. The stealership claims the filter housing was so clogged up that the pump burned out. They replaced both, along with the HPFP and the TIPM module under the hood too because the relay was burned out...
For those of us with 40-thousand dollar lawn ornaments like I do ...
This morning I found this ... for the princely sum of 11 dollars.
"Rammos Flexible Magnetic Tape 1 inch Wide x 10 Feet Magnet Strips Roll with Strong Back Sticky for DIY, Craft Projects, Motari Tone Rings, Whiteboards &...
Photograph everything - and write out the timeline.
Then send it to your local News outlets "Consumer reports" divisions.
I'm beginning to get the feeling FCA has deliberately failed to train technicians on this engine, or the nuances of them.
I'm half tempted to call Holley or Haltech and asking them to look into this - even if it's a custom job, the potential for ALL 3.0's is too hard for them to pass up if all they need is a bit of wire, a reluctor, a sensor, and the original wave-pattern of the original setup. ALSO, rename the...
My truck has been down since December - I was bilked out of $5,300 dollars for most of the fuel system, and the problem wasn't even fixed. I still have no start, no electric fuel pump priming when turning the key, and a runaway starter when I key it to "start" until I literally spin the key back...
My pump failed in tank according to the stealership I took it to. Then they said the filter housing/heater never had a filter change and it contaminated the entire system. Then I receive a 15-thousand dollar quote on a truck I made 2 payments on. Warranty would not cover it. Then I negotiate the...
It's time like these I wish FCA would go under federal investigation and "Settle" out of court by replacing all these Pasta-diesels with 4BT's. I can dream... right?
Importapart - guy is on Youtube as "IdoCars", really easy to work with - and stands behind what he sells. He did a teardown on one of our Ecodiesels a while back before he knew what causes their failures. He has access to get more if necessary.
I'm just curious - my dead after 10-weeks Lone Star is now 3 months disabled. The new mechanic I have working on it is fairly confident I have a tone ring failure (like many of you also thought). I've placed 8 orders for them, every time they're cancelled because their websites are out of date...
Pushbutton or keyfob ignition?
If keyfob, when you turn to "Start" and let go so it rebounds back to the "run" position, does it still keep cranking away until you manually turn it back to "off" ??
I've run into that issue, and most are suggesting the tone ring failed.
