    gen 3 eco

Thanks Guy's!! I can easily say this is the nicest truck I've ever owned. The interior is outstanding to say the least, I find it unbelievable how ram found so many places to put useful storage spaces inside the cab, plus having all of the important driving function items arranged for ease of...

    gen 3 eco

I've been driving my new gen-3 for a week now. I'm very happy with the way it drives, no throttle lag, very responsive, good MPG's all packaged in a really nice truck. IMO it drives as well if not better than my 2014 gen-2 with the GDE tune. At this point I'm very pleased with it! Only time...

    The Fun Begins

This is just my opinion for what it's worth. I really feel for everyone who is caught up in the ERG recall fiasco! My gut feeling is that it's going to take a class action lawsuit to get any sort of true monetary resolve for the owners caught up in this mess. I know that doesn't help...

    Engine Fire

Looking at the bottom picture. It sure looks like a big hole is burnt in the intake manifold above where the ERG diffuser tube enters the manifold. Could be a classic case of what the EGR cooler recall is all about.

How many miles on your Ecodiesel ??

The ideal would be if there was factory authorized bypass filter kit available. Fat chance on that happening. These things should come from the factory with a bypass filter system.

They are trying to screw me

Stan, You said you recently moved to Washington state. Is the dealership where your truck is at Rairdon's Kirkland by chance? Do yourself a favor & read this thread clear through. It's looking like there's some funky things going on in the NW region...

They are trying to screw me

Wow!!!!! With all of the EGR issues & recall for leaking coolant. I wonder if the coolant leak was mis-diagnosed in the first place. Why did the mechanic go looking for a coolant leak when you brought it in for an air suspension problem? They performed work you didn't request & that is the root...

Engine Failure - Warranty Claim - DENIED

Great news!! Nice to see that FCA is finally stepping up to do the right thing. Good Luck & let us know how things turn out.

    HD Diesel Supply -Delete Kit

You make some good points! I am aware that OTA updates are coming and will be the future. I see where Ford announced last week that they will be starting this service next year on an optional basis. Tesla has been doing it for awhile now. When this fully rolls out, the days of aftermarket self...

    HD Diesel Supply -Delete Kit

FYI, I called HD Supply & inquired if they were going to be able to offer a tune for the 2020 gen-3. The guy I talked to said I was the first person to ask about the gen-3. He said if they do, it will be at least six months before they have one developed. I took that to mean probably a year from...

I wonder if they'll be able to do the gen-3 in the 2020's?

Massive billows of white smoke as truck went into limp mode

". Exhaust pipes are coated w/white dust and tiny white pellets." Sounds like something happened to blow-up the SCR. That's the only place I can think of that might have pellets in it. If those pellets went thorugh the exhaust system, you may have a plugged muffler & the engine can't breath...

New member and owner; excitement has now turned to concern

I totally agree with the statements you've made here & I truly am sorry for your experiences with your truck. FCA has a lot of things to answer for and as things unfold with this new recall and the fire hazards the EGR systems present. They may end up being forced into a buy-back situation. When...

New member and owner; excitement has now turned to concern

I fully agree that FCA or any manufacturer should be responsible for the reliability & durability of their products. The point I was trying to make is that all of this is driven by the ever tightening EPA regulations and the manufacturers are having a hard time trying to meet those requirements...

New member and owner; excitement has now turned to concern

I'm a new guy here, but thought I would make a couple of comments on this discussion. FCA isn't the only horse to blame here, the main blame here lies with the EPA. The EPA is who is mandating all of the emissions requirements & components for these engines. Unfortunately these components are...

New Guy Here to say Hello

I'm new to the site and just thought I'd say hello & introduce myself. I'm a former owner of a Ram eco that I bought new in 2014. I traded the truck & have missed it ever since so I now have a 2020 Gen-3 on order. I'm a retired diesel mechanic with experience on a wide range of engines &...
