Good to hear.. You could always do a oil test at 7K to see how the oil is doing. That will tell you if you're changing it too soon or not soon enough. Either way I've always felt like 7K is a good happy/medium area.
Don't let them flash any ECM update if you're tuned as it will erase everything GDE as done.
As far as the update, I think someone mentioned it alters the oil change consumption timing on the dash, but I'm not sure if it does anything else in regards to programming.
I wish these worked on the Ram trucks: http://www.autometer.com/gauges/dashcontrol.html
They do exactly that, and allow you to display certain engine PIDs right inside your cluster.
You would have to have the ECM reprogrammed to account for the bigger fuel tank. They do it on the Duramax trucks a lot, and I'm sure GDE and/or PPEI could do it for the EcoDiesels as well..
Welcome!
So many variables to getting great MPG. I'll be the first to say, any kind of city driving will bring your MPG down faster than you think. Which we all know that...
The information in the owners manual printed will be out of date. I would go here: http://www.ramtrucks.com/en/owners/manuals/
Put in your info and you can get the most up-to-date information about your truck. Welcome to the site!
Great suggestion. We've just not had many requests to see anything here since we're still a pretty new site.
I will add a new forum section for buying and selling for us tonight!
