Interesting read, and bribing someone with $200 cash back, has to be against the law at some point.
This is why you always read before you sign!

Wow, you learn something new everyday. I didn't know they done that. I know if a Check Engine light is on they will not start, but cool feature (I guess).
Yep! Just as @gobrowntruck21 said they are made to work as is. Using a monitor is more of a way to see how things are working, and not a necessity.
The Edge CTS reads off of factory sensors, so no drilling holes!
Do you tow on a daily basis, and is it heavy? Since you mentioned having a 6.0 Powerstroke, I wasn't sure if you need a 3/4 ton truck still.
The EcoDiesel is perfect for light towing (boats, campers, etc) and then giving you great fuel efficiency when you're out driving to work or a weekend...
I don't have a CTS 2, but from the website it gives you the following factory PIDS (paramaters).
EGT1 Turbo Inlet
EGT DOC Inlet
EGT3 DPF Inlet
EGT4 SCT Inle
Those are factory sensors that are suppose to be read via the CTS.
Here is a good thread @jones_19 around winter time starting. Since I'm in the southern part of the USA, we don't have extreme winter here. But, no one mentions needing an additive.
It probably wouldn't hurt though...
