I've never done it..but my dad has 3 times! I just drained the tank each time and put a new fuel filter in it. Also added the power service diesel treatment from walmart and no problems yet. The last time has been about two years ago.

Skip the K&N Air filter. If you're wanting a full intake, I would go with the S&B Intake. K&N doesn't have the best reputation on diesels..Oiled filters being the most common complaint as they will saturate and cause MAF sensor issues.

Of course.. That's why I don't have one! :D
But, eventually I'll give in, but it will be for the deletes along with the increase in power. If I'm going to void my warranty, I want to make it worth it.

CAT seems to be the popular choice for cheaper (But good quality) filters. Yes., we would need to research the filter to but used and perhaps have the adapter made.
If you look up Nicktane, he had adapters made for the Duramax Trucks and were a big hit.
