    Reported problems on the EcoDiesel

He's not questioning oil cooler failure @renewal101 he's Canadian and referencing the intercooler icing up which is another problem ecodiesel's particularly ones in cold climate have experienced. Which is something that actually resulted in a FCA recall.

    Reported problems on the EcoDiesel

So they claim to have extended the thermal shutters to cover the ENTIRE radiator on the 2016 models? That's news to me..

    2014 ecodiesel. Motor blew.

As much as a root cause and analysis would be great; I'd be a happy camper just to have the truck back and driving just as you seem to be. And surprisingly you had a great turn around time

    2014 ecodiesel. Motor blew.

Unfortunately the way it works is once it's replaced and shipped off it's out of sight and therefore out of mind and he likely will never hear anything from the dealer.

    Who's running a tune

Well just because one can does not mean they should run 3000+ rpms and pull up a long grade trying to maintain a speed that's not necessary and overwhelming the truck. It's entirely driving habits that are pushing the high egt's that you see. If you don't like them or want to see it that high...

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

It's completely associated with driving habits. And as Shawn's videos have shown if you've ever watched them in detail regen's do tend to happen at the worst time and do not always complete as it will be starting right as you're coming off the highway etc. I have my ecodiesel for multiple...

    2014 ecodiesel. Motor blew.

Wow that is beyond anything that I can find words for. A mechanic doesn't take a phone or coat with him on a test drive; experiences engine failure; and then essentially says F***It and proceeds to run your truck into the ground. I absolutely cannot believe that happened. That's low even for...

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

That may be so but if you're ever in the situation that you see the evic messages for forced regen it can be done an running at 1800+rpms. The factory high idle in the Cummins does not run that high. So it does not matter. But it's used for warm up times and pto. But BD power DOES have an...

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

So thinking this moreover; I don't think ghost tuning could do anything for us with that. Because it is an integrated feature with the truck already for the Cummins to use the cruise as a high idle. And all RAM's including the Cummins are drive by wire; so it's actually nothing that can be...

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

@moparecodiesel can Celtic tune in a high idle like how the Cummins functions? Where you use the cruise buttons while parked to kick up rpms for auxiliary units? If we could optionally idle to 2k rpms we could actually have the option to do a regen anytime you wanted really. Just have it on a...

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

I maybe run into it once every month or two depending on weather and driving habits if I'm stuck in town. I have no edge tool so I cannot put the truck into regen while driving. I had the evic message that's it. So I ran high rpms to force high egt's and complete a fast and complete regen...

Depending on your climate winter fronts and block heaters are common additions. Many like the look of simply debadging. Sport Hood is also a common alteration for anyone looking to change a whole Hood. (Wish I had thought of it my Hood was just replaced @body shop) Otherwise just bed mats or...

Actually I've known people put add the tow hooks. Maybe call a dealer and get part numbers or just thoroughly look online for the mopar tow hooks and bumper bezels. I've seen it done before I just don't have the part numbers to reference handy.

    "Emergency Regen"=Record Time

So this morning going to work (only a mile across town) I get the lovely comment from my wife as I'm climbing out of bed at 6:30; "oh yeah the truck is at 90%" (dpf) It's -15°F and the truck isn't even running yet. And I have to be on the clock in 25min and I have 3 dogs to get outside...

    Truck Stop DEF

Maybe this is stupid to ask; but does anyone in cold climate or Canada in particular just wish that there was some indicator light or some simple straight forward way of telling a person if the DEF tank is frozen. Couple hours of driving in severe cold; coolant lines thaw it out no problem...

    Reported problems on the EcoDiesel

Just as many people experience the failure; many do not. I do not have an answer why. It should be an isolated issue and either across the board or none at all. The ratio of good to bad; no one except maybe fca seems to know. Obviously not enough. I've got 20k with no issues at all; build was in...

But an oil cooler? FCA is going to have a hay day blaming a mechanical or engine failure on anything except that or tied to that

    Truck Stop DEF

Sorry stan you took that completely out of context. I was referring to my 6 month old infant son. My child. And #2 that is due later this year. Can't really throw them in a car that's still -10F and expect all to be okay.
