A better approach to soot reduction would be to Get an OBDLink MX+ adapter, Alfa OBD app, and a bypass cable for the OBD port and turn off the EGR and the EGR temp sensor. This will stop all exhaust gasses and soot from going in your new intake manifold.
Try this first: Wiggle the connoctor on the the glow plug, even pull it off and reinstall. I have had a couple different glow plugs pop this code, I did this and they went away. In my experience with my truck, many codes that pop up are more about a loose or tarnished connection or an ECU...
For the P200A code, you could remove the EGR tube and look inside your intake manifold with a flashlight (or a borescope) to see how much carbon you're dealing with. To get to the EGR tube, take off the decorative engine cover, disconnect the intake muffler from the air filter housing, and it's...
Likely, the body control computer has lost contact with a module. A module is something like cruise control, the shutters in front of the radiator, or intelligent battery sensor. Basically, check your battery voltage and ensure the battery connections are clean and secure. These...
Maybe try a bottle of the Hot Shot's EDT - availaible at Wal Mart, good for 8-16 doses. I keep fuel additives in the floor storage in the back seat area of my crew cab.
If I may offer some suggestions based on what I do in my truck (192k mi, original HPFP)...
- Oil change @ 7k mi with 8qts Rotella T6 5w-40 (spec) with 2 qts Lucas synthetic oil stabilizer
~ The extra oil film thickness outweighs the additive dilution, you will see a minor MPG loss .5 to 1...
The AD is an earlier version of the 2nd gen engine, around 2014-2015. Your AF engine is a later engine with a couple slight revisions to it. Overall, interchangeable within the 2014-2019 family. One notable difference is the oil capacity - early AD took 8.5 quarts of 5w-30, instead of 10.5 of...
If you haven't already, check the dipstick for the "forbidden glitter". If oil level and appearance are good, check the electrical connections/fuse for the oil pressure sensor. The numbers on the dash display are merely a calculation of what the oil pressure should be according to RPM, load...
I considered that, and while you are right about it being a much more common leak, the OP said the truck has gone through 2 gallons in 1700 miles. When the turbo coolant tube failed on my truck, it was dripping from the bell housing with much less coolant loss. Plus, somebody already mentioned...
Another possible culprit is the black plastic crossover tube attached to the top of the water pump, just above the pulley. It bolts to the pump, but only has its own rigidity and an O-ring to keep it in the metal tube at the other end. Over time it warps and can get pushed out. They are only...
Sorry, no pics, but there is one turbo oil line that goes from the turbo down the back of the engine into the block just above the trans. The other oil line to the turbo is fairly short. If either of these lines failed, oil would run down the back of the engine and sides of the trans bell housing.
I change fuel filter every 15-20k mi and put in a lubricity additive like HotShots EDT every fill up. My intent is to make the HPFP last as long as possible - currently at 190k mi. Been using WIX/MicroGard (O'Reilly brand made by WIX) WF10245, it has a 4 micron rating.
Main things to pay...
Sounds like there's a disconnect in the wire/connection between the computer request output and the voltage regulator. May have to continuity test starting from alternator.
If it's any consolation, back in august of '24 I replaced my water pump and that little plastic tube that goes on it, then promptly drove to Las Vegas encountering 113°F temps along the way (from Colorado) and 110°+ while I was there - no overheating. Truck has SFT1 on stock truck.
Yes, the CP4X pump is the best fix for the problem. Until I can get one installed, I'm making sure my stock pump has plenty of lubrication. Not to mention the other benefits of using fuel additive.
Your DEF system isn't operating efficiently enough. Possible causes:
-Clogged/dirty injector: remove and steam clean w/ an inexpensive handheld steam cleaner
-Old or contaminated DEF fluid: Empty and refill tank with new, good DEF
-Bad DEF pump: Not enough pressure to injector (after cleaning)...
Hello Kevdran,
I, too, have 2015 and have been getting similar codes (p2d2e & p200b). Yes, the dealership will use the same OEM part, and eventually the codes will return. How long the "eventually" is, depends on what you do to mitigate the soot buildup. Fuel additives are good for the fuel...
