Doesn't sound like an internal (rods, crank etc)knock to me. Close proximity to exhaust manifold leak perhaps,
Steth scope it to pinpoint the sound location?
Since it's deleted there is hope you are good.
Someone else will likely delete the truck, so that notion of not contributing to a dirty planet, is misguided.
It's best to use what is already in global inventory, and offset if need be. For example, use a bike, EV for daily, and the truck for truck tasks. That's what I do. My truck has just...
V-Diesel on another forum used the Eco-D for professional towing. over 500K miles, but I think did drop in a new motor along the way. I talked him, his was deleted, tuned and he used a different grille for increased air flow (cooling). Since moved to a 2500 w/Cummins
Some Mac fleet guys are...
What's the in the truck? Assuming the turbo is good and engine checks out OK
1. reduce weight (I got rid of that nasty hard tonneau, side steps are heavy, lithium battery is lightweight. )
2. Gear down for more HP
3. change rear-end to 3.92 or smaller diameter tires
4. delete and tune
5. higher...
There is a throttle bypass valve that opens when you charge air (rev) then slam the throttle plate shut. The air has to go somewhere or the turbo pump will be hit. Creates a pipe hammer effect. So it's that system that is chuffing.
I blew my bypass doing that in a Volvo R - full throttle 5K...
That was a good teardown. He did the eco-d too a while back.
On those repair orders up top, "Replace NOx sensor" is similar to my truck, with it's short trip SCR (exhaust) issues. Shortly after fixing NOX and DEF problems, my engine died.
But the good news is if the Eco-D is deleted, and in AB...
Class action suits are started by law firms that can make a case to extract settlement $$ from large corporations. They are designed to pay the law firm fees, not the claimants. You'll see pittance paid in settlement funds.
Government agency actions, like EPA, that's a different deal. Then the...
I guess it all depends on why the engine died. the two stroke oil is a good tip.
At the fuel terminal, gas could be mixed with diesel to a certain extent, not so much the other way round!
If the CP4 did crater, I agree with a youtuber mech that said replace the lines (do not flush) as any...
Had a buddy who did this to his VW. He's a German engineer, PHD ;).
Shell in Canada has Bronze as regular, which looks yellow, like Diesel. So he topped 'er up and it died a short distance later.
All he did was drain the tank, refill with Diesel and cranked it until it started. Diesel...
I just got the new pump put in today. Took about 1/2 day at the shop, free wash.
Holy does it sound sooo smoooth. Purrs like a new Cummins. Impressive re-work there.
No flash required and put a big sticky on the dash to that effect.
But I am not sure how the climate is in Ontario (canada) for deletes. It is "illegal". Out west here, AB/BC is a non-issue, shops even advertise the service for all makes.
Commercial use/large motors emissions are enforced.
iam am a 40 yr mechanic , electrical engineer and retired industrial systems manager. After engine failure listened to advice of the local diesel shop here in bc and did the delete. It's been great. Drives normally for one thing (throttle res). Only downside is it's stinky/particulates.
Miles...
We had persistent codes, including the shutdown which did happen. After all the bru-ha, in the end it was the NOx sensor. The NOx value was off, so it showed up as a DEF problem.
The NOx sensor must be the feedback ( like an O2 sensor), but for DEF function. I believe the NOx sensor module is...
Ive had clearances inside the starter, change due to temperature.
Corrosion in the starter motor itself, causes hot start issues.
Corrosion in the throw-out relay, causes cold start issues.
Interestingly, I've been able to mitigate both by injecting something like LPS#2 into the solenoid...
Overheating will cause a head gasket to go.
Or if the head bolts have loosened off.
They diagnosed it as an oil passage breach, block to head, which I had in Audi V8. The service record showed a dealer re/re of the heads but there must have been a leveling issue, cause it kept leaking.
I...
Lose - lose on the Ford. Despite having good women and men working there, Ford at core business level are crooks. They pilfer engineering from acquisitions, then spin them off. There is no intrinsic ecosystem of innovation and engineering. Just slime on the take. I dont see a single engineer...
I blew my diesel at the strip, Reckless tuned and bullet-proofed me and now make 500 rwhp 500 tq with stage 3 mega-tow and transmission tune can haul heavy 10000lbs 12 sec in a 1/4 mile, beat the Cybertruck straight up.
pix or didn't happen, nose down for more top-end ;) See ps:
PS: JUST...
