    New engine ordered

Thanks. By oversize beatings, do you mean wider, ie full with of the bearing support, or do you mean oversize as in crank grind? My crank is trash, and I'd much rather fit wider bearings if I can find them. I'm up for a new crank, I've exhausted my second hand marked (all were cracked). Any...

    New engine ordered

Certainly open to learning. What advice do you have about better bearings (given Dodge have discontinued standard rod and main bearings, and crankshafts)? I actually still need all three ....

    New engine ordered

You're certainly entitled to your opinion. Mine is, oil is the life blood of any engine. Dirty oil is bad news.

    New engine ordered

Interesting dilemma. I have a 2014 Ecodiesel Longhorn, and it's a great truck. I drive it 19,000 mile towing our 7000lb trailer around America the summer of 2022, faultless. But in June this year at 101k miles, it spun the mains. I have since learnt a lot! Long story short, had I known what...

    Antifreeze leak on front

That is where my dribble came from on my 2014. I fitted ine new oring, and didn't even bother with the orher, just used some loctite gasket goo, fixed the issue. My turbo coolant hose went too. Replacing wasn't exactly an easy mission, so I put some Risolene Head Gasket fix into the coolant...

EoC tune with EGR delete sure sounds like the way to go.

How do I service the DEF system in a 2018 Dodge?

Cant. I am in New Zealand. Vehicle gets inspected every year, and they are TOUGH.. If they see anything non-standard or standard parts removed, they will fail it.

How do I service the DEF system in a 2018 Dodge?

I am in the process of rebuilding my engine. When it goes back toegther, the difuser tube will be welded closed!

How do I service the DEF system in a 2018 Dodge?

If it is not causing any issues, just drive it. When the system gets loaded up with around town driving, it will diosplay a message saying you need to get it out on the highway (which burns off the crap that builds up I presume in the catalytic converter). Takes about 10-20 minutes freeway...

    How to determine tune status

One way may be to go to your RAM dealer and ask them to check it. Be sure ask them not to automatically put the stnadrd tune in it which of course overwrites anything you may have in there. The dealer MAY be able to tell you if the tune is stock or not, but chances are they wont be able to...

    2016 Laramie - EGR/Cooler failed - what to do in 2024?

EoC were willing g to ship to me 3 months ago, and I live in New Zealand. If push comes to shove, have it divered to a shipping agent on Canadian side of the border then shipped to CO from there.

I gave up on this Truck

170k miles is pretty decent. My 2014 RAM EcoD failed at 103k miles, but only becasue I overheated it (my fault), but perhaps it was on the way out anyway. Currently rebuilding my engine. I am gonna get a stage 1 EoC engine/trans tune, but before I even start the new engine, I will be blocking...

    Dealer suggest new engine

So, I am rebuilding my engine atm. I am not sure what a wet EGR Pipe is (assume one of the 2 rubber hoses that connect coolant to the EGR Hxer, in which case is an external leak and would not put coolant into the oil). I can understand a leaking oil cooler putting coolant into the engine. But...

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

Spoke to PDR Diesel in BC, Canada. They said asbolutely this pipe can be plugged off, so that's what I'm gonna do.

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

So, there is no way I wanna put the Exhaust Gas back into my now clean inlet manifold. But I haven't got the EoC tune with EGR deactivation, in yet, and won't before I restart the new engine. Can anyone see any raeson why I can't just put a blanking plate in this joint arrowed in this pic? I...

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

OK, Thanks. Any idea where I can buy a new crankshaft from? The Local RAM dealer here in NZ wants NZD4350+ 15% tax, and of course delivery is who know when. I am a bit weary of buying one made in China....
