So, there is no way I wanna put the Exhaust Gas back into my now clean inlet manifold. But I haven't got the EoC tune with EGR deactivation, in yet, and won't before I restart the new engine. Can anyone see any raeson why I can't just put a blanking plate in this joint arrowed in this pic? I...

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

OK, Thanks. Any idea where I can buy a new crankshaft from? The Local RAM dealer here in NZ wants NZD4350+ 15% tax, and of course delivery is who know when. I am a bit weary of buying one made in China....

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

Yeah it's too late for me, I own the truck, complete with blown motor lol. So I just get to fix it. Interesting your comment about girdles/Billet mains. Is this a mod you did to the VM 3.0? Or some other engine?

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

Yeah I have been told it is not a great design, and it's not. But thinking about it, is it really that bad? Normal engines have individual main bearing caps, on the Ecodeisel engine these are just all joined together as "the bedplate". What''s more, the bed plate has 4 bolts per main (so in...

Hello. I am located in Australia and have a 2019 Ram 1500 eco disel. Been a great truck.

Hi Adam, I have a 2014 ecoD and am in Auckland, NZ. I was about to get a tune early July when I overheated my engine and fried it (spun 3 mains). But before that, I was dealing with GDE, they seemed to know what they are talking about...

2018 Ram 1500 eco diesel -blown engine

So, mine is a 2014 Eco Diesel. On July 5th I blew the engine (due to overheating I suspect), at 163,000km (101,000 miles). I had the engine removed as I did not have the facilities to do that myself. That was NZ$2,000. However, I did strip it myself. In fact, the top end is mint, even still...

Hi everyone, I am new to this site. I have a 2017 ecodiesel, Big Horn 4x4.

For steering wheel heater, that sounds like the clock spring (located behind the steering wheel and airbag). I lost cruise control when mine went. It's a bit of a mission to replace, but not too bad, just takes a bit of time, and mirrors to see wat you are doing in particular to unclip the air...

2016 Ram Eco Diesel DEF Question?

I have a 2014 Eco. The DEF tank in mine is 8 US Gallons. Seriously, mine takes up around 15,000 km to burn 8 USG! So not unusual to have no movement in only 350 miles. Another thing these DEF systems do (it's not just Dodge systems): DEF is basically 50% water and 50% Urea. This stuff...
