I have 63,000 miles. Just went through the ETC message which uncovered an EGR cooler leak. Lost about 1 1/2 liters of coolant in the last week. None was visible leak. The EGR valve then stuck open. They were able to soak the EGR valve and break up the build up and it now works.

I like the Ram platform best. It's comfortable, well appointed with Big Horn package, and a great value compared to others. I hadn't thought about a new Ecodiesel with extended warranty. The Colorado diesel is having the same emissions troubles as the Ecodiesel.
Finally got my truck back. Service tech was able to clean out the EGR valve rather than replacing it. That saved me about $900. Replaced leaking EGR cooler and MAP sensor for $2200. We agreed that it was likely going to happen again in the future despite my 80% highway miles. My option now...
What did the find out. Mine is in for the same thing except my bumper to bumper warranty is up. $3100! If they replaced yours 4 times, I'm selling the truck. It's still in the shop.
That's what I'm considering. To much risk with Ecodiesel. Love the truck but $3100 EGR valve and EGR cooler repair hurts! And no guarantee that it's fixed!
Mine did the same thing and was also loosing coolant. They are replacing the erg valve and EGR cooler at a cost of $3100 out of my pocket. Not powertrain so not covered!
Sorry to report that Chrysler refused to even contact me regarding the EGR valve and EGR cooler repair on my truck. Any contact numbers from the forum would be great.
Glad to hear they are supporting you. I have a 2015 with the same 100,000 coverage but they said it's not covered under powertrain. No rental, loaner or help paying the $3100 charge to replace EGR and EGR cooler. Any suggestions?
Add mine to the list at 62,000 miles. Heater stopped working. Added almost a liter of coolant and added more 5 days later. Got the Electronic Throttle body message and into limp mode. Dealer said EGR valve is clogged shut and erg cooler is bad. Replacing both for $3100. Chrysler is not...
Has anyone replaced the EGR cooler on their own? I found a dealer that sells EGR coolers for under $400. I took a look at the cooler and it doesn't look like a difficult job.
