As usual, just keeping it positive. I passed 190,000 on my 2014 1500 about a week ago. I went from OKC to Lincoln, Nebraska and back in the same day and averaged 26.6 at “the pump”. Most of the drive was on the highway at the posted speed limit of 75mph and carrying maybe 500lbs of additional equipment in the bed of the truck. I will probably keep this truck until it just won’t go anymore. I desire a truck that can haul and tow more but as a disabled vet, this is the most comfortable truck I’ve ever owned. It’s hard to think about switching to a 3/4 ton simply because of the fuel mileage. I know the seats are the same but the ride quality on the 1500 is unmatched in my opinion. My wife drives a QX80 but it’s not even close in the comfort category to my Ram. It’s a shame they’ve discontinued this platform even with the issues. Honestly, all diesel owners need to start lobbying congress to get rid of the emissions crap on diesel vehicles. In my opinion, that’s the only flaw with this engine specifically.

That's awesome to hear! Yea, no doubt the 1500 platform rides so much better then the 2500's. My father in law has a 2022 2500 w/Cummins and it's nice, but rides like a log wagon. :D

I appreciate you keeping it positive. I am 100k miles behind you and hope I get the longevity that you have experienced. I also love the ride of the truck although I think it is time to redo my front suspension. I put new springs and shocks on the back this year to help with towing and they made such a great difference that I want to do the front. I am deleted so hopefully that will help the truck last longer and be more reliable. Went on 600 mile road trip last weekend and got 27.5 mpg.

I really need to replace the springs and shocks too, I riding on the original 🤦‍♂️ but I also want to add the aftermarket air shocks to the truck. I still have a warranty on my truck, but as soon as that ends in about two years, I plan to delete my truck as well. I recommend you change the oil every 5k and the fuel filter every 10k. It seems to work for me, either that or I bought the unicorn of ecodiesel’s.

I have a 2015 ED, bought it in June 2022. It had 248,000 miles on it.

It was in Phoenix, Az when I picked it up. It had one code for 3 way valve and some oil in the coolant(no coolant in oil) and driving up 7,000 ft elevation in June it had some overheat issues, I figured it was the 3 way valve.

After an oil cooler, crankshaft position sensor, EGR valve and the 3 way valve since then, everything was going pretty good. I have 251,000 miles now, Until yesterday on a 30 mile drive in 83°F weather.

The oil temp gauge was climbing as it usually does on this particular drive getting up to 265-270°F. The coolant usually does fine, but out of nowhere it went from 210-212° instantly to 251°, peaking out at 274° with a high coolant temp alarm dinging and the truck limping the last mile or so home.

I haven’t diagnosed anything yet this morning, but that damn 3 way valve that I just replaced better not be the problem.

It’s ran a little hot since I got it and the cooling fan is pretty much always at top rpm.

I didn’t know what I was getting myself into when I bought the truck. But I know now.

Did you replace the three way valve with a Mopar or a knockoff brand in an attempt to save a few bucks? Cheaper valves seem to be faulty/problematic. Even the four seasons brand does not do well with this engine.

I paid full price from the official mopar store. I did buy a knockoff from eBay but the connector didn’t even fit, so I bought the real one.
