So I have a 2016 ecodiesel showing a p0402 code and a “service electronic throttle control” message I have replaced the egr cooler and valve, cleaned the egr diffuser, and replaced the map sensor. Any ideas what else could be causing these codes?

Just a guess here but check the throttle butterfly on the front of the intake manifold. If it's not opening up properly, restricting flow of fresh air, that will cause a greater draw from the EGR. Also, check the electrical connectors to it.

I will try that. 2015, 199K, setc, P0402 and P0183. Cleaned MAP twice, MAF twice, EGR tube twice and def nozzle once. Changed air and fuel filters. With codes cleared, it will idle rough until warmed up. No codes except low idle code. Still no pedal. After a few more minutes the pedal starts to work if pressed slowly until stops at 2700 rpm. Will not move. Still no codes. After a few more minutes the setc sets. Pedal is very responsive then up to. 2700 rpm. Will barely crawl. Usually code p0402 sets then and occasionally p0183. If I rev engine up, I will start seeing yellowish/brown smoke coming from tailpipes. ECM was updated Jun 2019 and EGR cooler replaced later. I will try BTdriver's suggestion in a day or 2. Trying to get the Jaguar inspected in case the ED does not get fixed soon. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

Checked out the intake butterfly. It had a little oil residue and some soot, but seemed to be operating freely. Moving on to fuel filter to test the fuel temp sensor and the EGR flapper.

Did you already check the solenoid? Check the line to make sure there is vacuum and then the plunger on the EGR cooler to make sure it moves freely.

You also may have to check the DPF Pressure Sensor. I just returned one as that was my next piece of the puzzle but the EGR valve was my issue.

Someone on this forum said that the battery getting low will give you that code. I had that code on my 2020 ecodiesel. The dealer replace the pedal electronics but then said I needed new battery. Battery was replaced. No code now.

Are you referencing the flapper valve at the back of the EGR cooler? If so,, what was wrong with it? TY.

Mine was fine but it was part of the exploration to get my truck running and clear codes. Make sure the line has suction going into the solenoid (flapper) on the back of the EGR cooler. Also test the plunger on the back side with the lever to make sure it moves freely. If that is failing and the suction fails to pull the flapper it could throw the code as the computer is telling to allow exhaust gas into the intake manifold. The DPF Pressure Sensor is under the truck and has 2 hoses to measure upstream and downstream flows. If one of the lines clogs or the sensor gets damaged it can no longer report to the ECU and puts the truck in limp mode.

I do not get a DPF code, but will check it out. I believe EGR flapper valve is working. The rod is completely extended and then retracts completely when started.

mine gave me that code at 20000 miles, changed air filter and cleared and all good
