My 2016 ecodiesel started on Monday 11/18/2024, i ran some errands and it started every time. I got to my kids school to pick them up and it died. I cannot get it to start again. Due to some info I received in another forum I tried replacing the fuel control actuator and it ran for about 15 seconds then died. I did a fuel pressure test to see what kind of pressure i was getting from the lift pump and it is around 62-64 psi. I use my scan tool and it shows that the commanded psi from the hpfp is 3900 to 4200 psi but all i get is 120 psi or so. What is the next step in fighting or what is going on?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like your HPFP went out. You take off and can check the lines to see if you have any metal in them. If the pump is only showing 120psi its a good bet that it went out. Bad thing is you would need to replace pump, lines, rails, and injectors. Diesel logic sells a kit for around$2600-2900 and comes with a pump failure kit that saves injectors and rail if it happens again

This truck had the hpfp recall done before I bought it in April. When i pulled the fca to change it, there were no signs of contamination on it. It ran for 10-20 seconds after replacing the fca and showed good pressure on the fuel rail when it was running.
