2016 ram 1500 ed

Aloha guys,

I have a 2016 on the water heading my way. [emoji2]

Been reading through ALOT of posts, I haven't seen a whole lot on 2016. Does anyone know or can anyone fill me in on whether they have remedied any of the ills, recalls, etc from last 2 years? Might be too soon to know.

Any essential/need to to know items, mods, etc. for a new ED owner?

Enjoy the truck...I don't believe ram has fixed any of the issues such as oil cooler. But electronic glitches I'm sure are pretty well sorted out. It's a great truck quiet, economical, etc. Keep your eyes peeled at rolling smoke diesel.com as they have an remote oil cooler they are about to put to market.

I very much appreciate it. I hate dumping money in a new truck but I guess it is what it is. The intention is to keep it for the long haul. Can't wait for it to arrive!

I'm with you I ordered my truck and haven't sunk a dime in it besides fuel and oil change its been great to me so far. Just don't expect it to be lightning fast as its not.

only the heads have been mechanically redesigned. The valve guides are tighter to allow less oil to lubricate the valve stems. This was redesigned for 2015+. Alot of pcm and computer recalibrations have been done. nothing else. so buy any year you want, get the options you want, and take it in to service and get all the latest flashes and recalls done and youll be the same as any of us.

Enjoy the truck it shouldn't have any issues, I have a very late 2015 which has been trouble free for the last 20k since may anyways

Biggest problem so far is trying to get one. Mine was supposed to be here befor xmas, then was told the 27th or 28th, today I am now told its showing to be delivered between Jan.3 to the 9th, told them they keep this up and its going to be a 2017. Getting a little annoyed.

My truck ended up arriving about a month after what they originally told me. You can call FCA and get updates from the with the last 8 of the vin. But it sounds like that's already happening. I was anxious to get my truck too.

I had some issues with the dealer communicating the delivery date but it took exactly 5 weeks from order to delivery for me
