I have 2400 miles on my 2015 Ram. My first three fillups I got a combined 28 MPG and my last I got 29. I have an AFE air filter. I have the tires all filled to 45PSI. The last tank I used Power Service Diesel Kleen, 8 oz to 25 gallons. I also installed a tonneau cover at this fillup. This tank I did not use any and next tank I will just to see if that 1MPG stays consistent or not. Once a week after the engine is warmed up, I punch it to help break in the engine.

I drive with a light foot. I drive a lot of highway miles but only 10 at a time. I also don't go much over 63 MPH. This truck is big and pushes a lot of air. Since air friction goes up in squares, mileage above this speed will suffer.

I am looking forward to a road trip this summer to MN from TX. I hope to get 32MPG. Also, install Gas Buddy to your phone to find the lowest diesel prices in town. We don't need block heaters too much down here. Does everyone know that all these trucks have them? I ordered the cable from Amazon.com for around $12 just in case we have a cold night. I prefer this truck to my BMW X3.

We prefer it to our x5 as well, a lot better than the 4.4 drinking premium though it's nice for running to Work in a hurry!

63 is a good speed especially with air suspension as it goes to Aero then. If you slow down to 58-60 you'll see another MPG or possibly 2 pending it's worth you slowing down.

But I've traversed nearly the entire state of Minnesota north to south on a half tank or less. That's worth few minutes.

Haha I read that backwards. Texas to Minnesota. Well I'm up here in cold weather Country but yes the block heater isn't too necessary in your area but it's nice to have coolant already at 70~ degrees when it is cool during the night.

A quick 300 mile trip to the casino and back 2 times with traffic hardly moving on the way there and half of the trip is back woods country roads I achieved 25mpg. I did set the cruz when possible and eventually got to 65mph on the highway portion which is about half of it. We ran the AC due to outside temps, I cannot complain because it does better than my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk even around town.

Thank you for the warm welcome. I thought of this technology for cars and trucks a long time back. It is the same as the big rigs but scaled down, a diesel but a lot less weight and drag. I am waiting for the hybrid to adopt diesels. Think of a 20-30 hp diesel, charging batteries. You will have the power reserve built into the batteries just in case you need a quick start, but I am thinking 80 to 100 mpg. BTW, this is the same technology as locomotives but they don't use the batteries, but the diesel powering the generator which produce electricity to drive the wheels.

I don't think the AC makes as much difference as it used to. It used to eat up 1-2 mpg. I can't tell the difference in power if it is off or on now.

I agree that the AC doesn't hurt you on the highway, but around town in stop and go at less than 45mph it does.
