$8 AutoZone intake tube

For simplicity and a recent update, here is a simple way to get more sound out of your engine by using a pipe from AutoZone, with paint total cost $8.

"AutoZone Intake Pipe" 18" x 3" pipe for $6.99 from AutoZone. The fatter, flared side goes towards the airbox. Then I put some $0.97 black spray paint on this pig and just loosened the clamp and pushed it in. AEM dry filter, drop in. Total cost, $8 and about 10 total min of my time for the tube. Stupid easy. Part# 17628

Seems like you would get more "sound" out of your engine by removing the sound deadening foam...for free!

I want to correct the above "Yes" to "Not sure". The original post pictures show a ruck with a round intake. My 16 has a flat intake. I don't think there's enough room to reshape the flat into a round. I would spend the $50.00 to get a CRC aluminum pipe that has the flat end for my 16.

Old post but I plan on doing this over the weekend. I was going to remove the baffles in the tube but for 12 bucks I'm going to just do away with the whole plastic thing.

And done. I had to flatten the backside out some to get it to fit but it went in pretty smoothly.
