Any Turbo problems with PPEI tune?

I haven't picked up an EcoDiesel yet, still trying to decide between this or a Cummins. I love the thought of the mpg but I'm afraid the EcoDiesel won't have enough torque to pull my 30' enclosed trailer at 10,000 lbs. I feel like I can make the suspension upgrades needed. With the additional 85 ft. pound of torque from the 40 hp. PPEI tune, that should give me enough to comfortably pull the weight. I've read that there was the possibility that turbo could be spinning to quickly for good bearing life. Also, I'm concerned that the egt. will be too high. Looking forward to the forum's responses!!

30ft is getting awful big for a half ton, it can do it though, just how regularly are we talking? Once every so often and you'll be fine, every weekend and I'd probably look at a heavy duty pickup or a Ford super duty

Every so often. Probably once a month April to October, two or three times in the winter.

That trailer is too big. You would be better off with a 3/4 ton. Power to pull is only half the equation.

The trailer has 4 wheel disc brakes. I've pulled it loaded to 6k with my CRD Grand Cherokee with a weight distribution hitch and bags on the rear suspension. I was amazed how well it did. However, 6k is not 10k. I know the transmission of the EcDiesel was designed to handle 525ish ft. lbs. of torque. I figured put some bags in the back, turn it up, and have a truck that would still get great mpg as a daily driver. I guess I need to face the facts, I’d be trying to use the EcoDiesel for something it was not designed to do. Currently I pull it 6 to 8 times year. I haven't started pulling it loaded to 10k yet, usually 5k to 6k right now. In the future I plan on hauling a race car to the track. The car is only 2500 but by the time you load spares, fuel cans, atv's and the rest, it starts to add up. Cummins it is…

Like mentioned, power is one thing.. but you need the truck to stop the load as well.

We welcome Cummins owners too, even if you just hang out in the off topic section! :D
