Just a helpful hint, use fishing line then go back over it with a eraser wheel. It should come right off!

I would recommend all to do it sooner rather than later due to fading and the paint behind the molding not matching after a few years. Since our trucks are so new not much to worry about right now.. but 5-10 years it would possible be a issue and need a good compound buff job.

New member/owner here. Love this truck in the 3 days since I've owned! Anyhow, just a subtle debadging for me. 1500 looks too big IMO. And of course I had to lose the dealer badge on the back as well.

Did you use a heat gun or anything? I was thinking of taking everything but the ecodiesel emblem off

Nah it was a good warm summer day. Used spider wire to 'saw' the numbers off. Then just a combo of fingernails & adhesive remover to clean up the residue. Very tedious job. But cleans up the look tremendously.

Debagged mine too. Took it all off the sides and the back, left the rams head on the tailgate, it looks inset. Looks much cleaner and I agree the 1500 looked way too big. Used fishing line and naphtha. The glue was a bear to get off. Purchased it in January didn't remove the badges until august.

Did a partial debadge on my ecodiesel, removed the 1500 then blacked out the RAM and the chrome ring around the EcoDiesel. I personally would not use fishing line, too worried I will scratch the finish. Instead my method was to heat the 1500 with a heat gun, using a flat tipped thin pliers grab the number and pull straight back. Pooped right off leaving the foam\adhesive behind. While it is still warm peal it off. Usually takes all of the adhesive with it. what is left remove with 3M adhesive remover and then polish with a polishing compound. Easy pease.I'm sure there are others feel this method is too risky.

My initials are BB, so I am The B 2 B! One more thing about using the heat gun/pliers method you are more than likely going to ruin the items you are pulling off, they are after all made of plastic.

Debate almost complete! I did just use a heat gun and a plastic spreader. Peeled right off and did not harm the stock emblems. I still have to do the RAM 1500 on the doors. I have ordered custom machined billet replacements for the inset in the tailgate and the grill that will replace the RAMS Heads. They are somewhere between 4 to 6 weeks out. I have to proof the artwork and then they will send them into production. Will post pics when they are done!

YES. I am commissioning a design from Billetbadges.com.

Well they took a while but they are a nice quality Billet and the badges fit perfectly in the stock indentations.

Cool.. how hard were they to install? I've never looked behind the grille.

Super simple to install. They come with 3M foam tape already on the back of the emblems. You have to loosen the top of the front grill. There are some tabs on the stock emblem that need to be depressed to take it off.
I used a little sand paper to level out the plastic underneath the stock emblem, cleaned off the surface and stuck the new emblem on.
The tailgate is indented in the shape of the badge so line it up and stick on!
I am very happy with them. Subtle and unique.
