I’m not much for chrome, and so I’m planning on completely replacing my grill, but in the meantime I decided to plasti- dip the one that I had.

Looks good. Plasti-dip is really cool, and if you do it right it will last years.. I did my bowtie on my previous truck and it lasted over 2 years before it started to show a bit of wear.. easy fix, just pressure wash it off, then reapply.

Did you prep the surface in any way? Want to make my chrome one black. Did you use the spray cans?

I did not do anything as far as prepping aside from cleaning with soap and water and getting it all dry with a hair blow dryer. Then I just started with about 8 coats of spray, and waited about 30 minutes between coats. Then about 4-6 coats of a clear coat. Don’t be in a hurry and do light coats for the first 5 coats so you don’t get runs. Then go on much heavier.
Best of luck

Awesome thank you, way better price then buying a new one or having a place paint it. Bonus plasti dip is actually really resilient.

any specific color code or just white plasti dip, ive never used plasti dip before

They only have the basic colors, so pick the one that you want.. and start spraying.. I'd watch some YouTube videos first so you understand best practices etc, before you start spraying your truck.
